The Residency program at UTHSC in the Department of Comparative Medicine has a clinical specialty emphasis, intended to prepare graduate veterinarians to become productive members of the biomedical research community as specialists in laboratory animal science and medicine and as research animal program directors. The overall objective of the program is to prepare candidates for board certification by the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM). This program will have up to three residents at any one time, traditionally accepting and graduating one resident yearly in this three year program.
