Microsoft 365: Installing and Managing Installations

You are allowed up to five active application installations if you are a full-time employee or student. Who Has What Access to Microsoft 365?

Computing devices owned by the UT Health Science Center should install Microsoft 365 and other campus software through the appropriate application portal. Instructions for this process can be found through these links:


  1. With a browser open, go to o365.uthsc.edu.
  2. If asked, enter your UT Health Science Center email/password (Duo authentication may be required).
  3. Click Install and more in the upper right-hand corner.

  4. You will see the following popup:
  5. At the bottom of your screen, you will notice a file has been downloaded.
    Windows

    Mac
  6. Click Close to close the popup window.
  7. Double click on the file at the bottom to begin installation then follow the instructions.  NOTE: Mac users may need to navigate to your Downloads folder to open the file.

Mobile Instructions

  1. Go to o365.uthsc.edu and sign in with your UTHSC email and password.
    *If your credentials are not recognized, you will need to change your NetID password and retry after 10 minutes.
  2. Click Install Office in the upper left-hand corner.
  3. Click Get App to get the app for your device and follow the instructions for installation.
    *When asked to log in to the application, use your UTHSC NetID/password.

UT Health Science Center will only sanction the storage of FERPA-protected information, Protected Health Information (PHI), or other materials and information covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) in the Microsoft 365 environment if the account(s) storing and accessing the information are enabled with two-factor authentication (DUO).
OneDrive offers version control that allows you to see the dates edits were made, who made the edits and restore a previous version of your document.
You can now share your documents in SharePoint with outside resources such as research partners, colleagues, vendors, clients, or customers. Options to collaborate with guests include on a document or on a site.
