Summer Programs
Tennessee Institutes for Pre-Professionals (TIP)
TIP offers a seven-week, cohort-based summer programs designed to increase representation and active participation of underrepresented groups in the health professions. The programs provide a unique opportunity for pre-health students to become equipped for matriculation into one of the academic programs at UTHSC.
Students gain hands-on exposure in clinical settings and are provided an avenue for reflection, professional development and more.

TIP offers a test preparation bootcamp that includes an online test prep course and an on-campus, month-long bootcamp. The online course will be offered for students to take their Spring academic semester before bootcamp. The on-campus bootcamp concurrent summer and will be

- Must represent a historically underrepresented group in science and healthcare professions

TIP Pre-Health Internship Program Prerequisite Course Requirements
- Freshman must have completed one semester of general biology and/or general chemistry. One semester of college math is desirable.
- Sophomores must have completed two semesters of general biology and general chemistry; one semester of organic chemistry and/or physics.

- Application deadline is Feb. 1.
- Students will be accepted through a rolling admissions process with final acceptances notified by March 1.
- Application Documents Required:
- Two Recommendation Letters, with one from a faculty member and one form a pre-health advisor
