Fellowship Program Director

Dr. Woods serves as director of the Center for Addiction Science at the University of Tennessee and of the affiliated addiction medicine fellowship training program. A fifth-generation West Tennessean, Dr. Woods attended college and medical school in Memphis, and has extensive work experience in residential treatment of patients with substance use disorders. Originally trained in internal medicine, he has been boarded in addiction medicine since 2012. Dr. Woods has a passion for advancing the treatment of the disease of addiction, and has a particular interest in treatment of impaired professionals.
