Clinical Trials Governance Board

The Clinical Trials Governance Board oversees clinical research studies at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

We facilitate knowledge and opportunity for participation in UTHSC's program for human subjects research.

UTHSC's program is part of a large federated network system created to support the execution of clinical trials throughout the region. We offer numerous services for both aspiring and established investigators and their programs, including common support in biomedical informatics, contracts and budgeting, education and training, regulatory services, coordinator and laboratory services, and financial and personnel management. We provide research services to all network affiliated investigators, allowing for individualized investigator and program development while integrating and capitalizing on shared resources.

Currently available services include the development and maintenance of a state-wide clinical research network. Our expertise encompasses Industry-Sponsored Research, Translational and Federally Funded Research, and Epidemiologic and Investigator-Initiated Research. Shared resources and synergies within these domains may be used by investigators or broader research programs:

  • Subject recruitment support
  • Study development support
  • Contract and budget support
  • Investigator education
  • Subject tracking and invoicing support
  • Network collaboration processes
  • External program development
