COHP COVID-19 Update: April 1, 2020

April 1, 2020 - How to cite a canceled conference presentation

Dear All,

If you were scheduled to present at a conference but it was cancelled due to COVID-19, you can still receive credit for it. Include the presentation in your CV, as your work was peer reviewed and accepted, but consider which of the following cases is most applicable.

  1. The conference is canceled.

Include in your CV in the usual format (APA style shown)

Seinfeld, J and Costanza, G.  (2020, March 13–22). Surviving the COVID pandemic [Conference session]. XWYZ Conference, Nashville, TN, United States. https://URL (Conference canceled Due to Covid-19)

  1. The conference is changed to be online only.

If the conference has been moved to online only, there is no need to indicate that the conference is online only. Online-only conferences use the same template as in-person conferences.

Seinfeld, J and Costanza, G.  (2020, March 13–22). Surviving the COVID pandemic [Conference session]. XWYZ Conference, Nashville, TN, United States. https://URL

  1. The conference occurs, but you cannot attend or present.

If the conference proceeds but your session was canceled or you were not able to attend and were the sole author and presenter, indicate that the specific session was canceled.

Seinfeld, J and Costanza, G.  (2020, March 13–22). Surviving the COVID pandemic [Poster session canceled]. XWYZ Conference, Nashville, TN, United States. https://URL

  1. The conference is postponed.

If the conference is postponed, simply update the dates and location.

Thanks
