To find an in-network providers go to www.uhcsr.com
On the right hand side of the screen, under the box "Find my school's plan" Click on the topic "find my school's plan". This will take you to a page where you can either enter the name of the school or the policy number. Policy number for UTHSC is 2010-93-1. Once you enter this number, the link for our school will show up underneath the policy number. Click on our school name. The next page you see will have the words "Search for a provider" in the middle of the page. You will also see UHC Options PPO. Click on this link. This will take you to a page where you can search for a provider or hospital. Click the appropriate selection for what you are looking for, then hit the continue button. There are multiple ways to search...by zip code, city or name. Input the information on this screen. The more specific you are (i.e. provider category, specialty) the easier it will be to find the provider you need. Click the continue button at the bottom of the page. This will take you to a page where you can specify the type of provider you are looking for. Once you choose the specialty, the next page lists the providers meeting your search criteria.
***You do not need a referral for insurance purposes to see a specialist. However, some specialists may require a referral from a referring doctor to schedule an appointment.
