Ying Zhuge, MD

Dr. Ying Zhuge received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida in 2002.  She received her MD degree from the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida in 2006.  She completed her General Surgery Residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Hospital in 2013.  During her residency, she completed a two-year Research Fellowship with the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and studied the role of endothelial progenitor cells and mesenchymal progenitor cells in neovascularization associated with diabetic wound healing, limb ischemia, and myocardial injury.  She completed a Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Surgical Oncology Fellowship at University of Tennessee LeBonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee in June, 2015.

After finishing her fellowship, Dr. Zhuge joined the Division of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital as a faculty member. She also joined the team at the Healthy Lifestyle Clinic at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, which is actively recruiting patients for medically-supervised weight loss, as well as evaluating and preparing them for weight loss surgeries.
