Electronic Grant Submission
Please contact the Office of Grants and Research Agreements as soon as you know that you will be submitting a grant application that requires electronic submission so that we can be working with you to be sure we do not miss the submission deadline.
We will provide up-to-date information and training sessions periodically (or upon request) and will post announcements via the Research web site as well as through campus e-mail.
Evisions Cayuse 424
NOTE: Effective 12/28/2015, all federal grant applications will be submitted using Evisions Cayuse 424 rather than the 424 Adobe packages unless the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) requires a different means of submission.
Internal Routing
Internal routing is required prior to submission of ALL grant applications, including those with electronic submission systems that allow the PI to enter data directly into the agency web site. In most instances, an institutional official must sign off on the application, either electronically or in paper form, before it is accepted by the agency.
The SP module of the Evisions Cayuse 424 system, which replaced PAMS, is used to electronically route all documents that require review and/or signature by the Office of Grants and Research Agreements (GRA). Log in to Cayuse 424 using your net ID and password.
Deadlines
The UTHSC Faculty Senate has approved a 5-working-day internal deadline for all grant applications, including those that must be submitted electronically. The FINAL version of the application is due to be routed in SP on that date. Please also note that in cases in which an agency has a deadline past 5 p.m. Central time, UTHSC deadline is 5 p.m. Central. Grant applications that arrive past the 5-working-day advance deadline will be reviewed as time permits but are not guaranteed to meet the agency submission deadline.
Registration
Individual investigators DO NOT need to register with grants.gov. The institution is already registered, and the "AOR" is Brenda Murrell. The DUNS# is 94-1884009.
PIs who plan to submit proposals to the NIH will need to be registered in NIH Commons to apply for NIH grants. PIs who have been funded, who have applied for NIH grants, or who are NIH reviewers may already be registered. If you do not have a Commons ID or if you have trouble logging into Commons, please contact Ginny Geer (901) 448-5587.
