Data Mining Core

This core helps investigators with the use of bioinformatics tools that can help them gain insights and create new hypothesis from their genetics, genomics or proteomics datasets. The use of modern genetics, genomics and proteomics approaches to discover biomarkers or to study a biological process often results in large lists with dozens or hundreds of genes. The process of gaining insights and creating new hypothesis from such lists is beyond traditional PubMed literature searches. This core makes available a number of tools that can help analyze gene lists in the context of gene ontologies or pathways to discover if gene lists are enriched for specific gene types, functions or pathways.
