About the Conference

The second annual Delta Clinical and Translational Health Disparities Conference was held August 19, 2019 in Jackson, MS on the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) campus. The event brought together health disparities researchers from UTHSC, UMMC, and Tulane University to discuss research interests and catalyze new collaborative partnerships which will result in the submission of a 2019 UTHSC/TU/UMMC CORNET Award proposal in Health Disparities Research. There were keynote speakers from each institution, a poster session, 3-minute lectures, and networking.

Health disaprities researchers interested in collaborating are eligible to apply for a UTHSC/TU/UMMC CORNET Award proposal in Health Disparities Research. To be eligible, each proposal must have included, at minimum, one faculty member from each participating campus (UTHSC, Tulane, and UMMC). Resources are available to fund up to two (2) awards, for up to $75,000/award, for one (1) year. The deadline to apply for a UTHSC/TU/UMMC CORNET Award in Health Disparities Research is September 30, 2019, with funding set to begin in January 2020.
