Clinical Investigation Track | Master of Science in Epidemiology Program

What is It?

The Clinical Investigation track within the Master of Epidemiology program, emphasizes clinical investigation and interdisciplinary translational research. The program has evolved to accommodate the schedules and needs of busy clinicians.

How is the Clinical Investigation Track Different?

Our program emphasizes the development of clinical research skill sets, enabling graduates to become independent clinical investigators.

Students receive training in:

  • Biostatistics
  • Epidemiology
  • Clinical Trial Methods

With optional training in:

  • Applied Statistics (Categorical data, Linear Regression, Mixed Models, Survival Analysis)
  • Health Behavior
  • Health Promotion
  • Genetic Epidemiology
  • Epidemiology of Childhood Diseases
  • Data Science

What are the Minimum Degree Requirements for this Program?

  • 36 credit hours total
  • 24 credit hours in core required courses (includes 6 hours for Master's thesis or research project)
  • 3 credit hours in core elective courses
  • 9 credit hours in elective courses

Full-time students (9 credit hours per semester or more) usually finish in 2 years.
