Benefits of Membership

Phi Chi is not a traditional Greek fraternity. There is no rush, pledge period, or hazing. There is a small initiation ceremony for new members in the spring and residents are required to register with the national Phi Chi organization.

  • Unlike undergraduate fraternities, membership is open to all medical students
  • Complete access to the Phi Chi House.
  • Get advice from upperclassmen from their experiences
  • Strong alumni support locally and nationally (your attendings may be Phi Chi)
  • There are presently 13 active chapters and total membership exceeds 36,000 consisting of student, associate, and alumni members
  • Bi-monthly Phi Chi House dinners
  • Phi Chi members hold prominent positions in almost every organization on campus and can help fellow members get involved
  • Socialize with upperclassmen and residents
