Residency and Fellowship Training Research

The residency program in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine offers highly motivated residents ample time for research. Residents are able to choose mentors from faculty and volunteers at any of the affiliated institutions.

Residents  can identify interesting or unusual  cases for presentation or publication from their extensive clinical experiences, or they can engage in translational or basic research experiences with faculty mentors.

The department has  a unique relationship with the Center for Cancer Research where many of our faculty have funded research activities in basic cancer biology and welcome residents to participate in ongoing research activities.

Fellows have similar opportunities for research in their specialty fields, and are expected to be academically productive.
