Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
Along with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, the REI Division boasts several of the Mid-South's top specialists. The In-Vitro Fertilization team provides success rates that are among the highest in the country, with more than 80 percent pregnancy rates for fresh IVF cycles across all ages, compared to less than 50 percent nationally.
The REI Division firmly believes in advancing the field through teaching and considers it a big privilege. "Make them think:" This simple statement sums up what the division strives for as teachers and clinicians, engaging students in lectures and presenting them with life skills, in addition to clinical cases.
The division is very active in clinical and basic research which addresses multiple aspects of REI, including the treatment of uterine malformations, fertility preservation, polycystic ovarian syndrome and endometrial function.
"Further inquiry" is the mainstay in conducting research, for which the division has institutional support that includes: a department that supports both qualitative and quantitative methods; an institutional review board that operates in a timely manner; computer equipment and easy online literature scanning; and departmental support for grant-seeking activities.
The REI Division will be hosting several free infertility seminars to address several issues, including medical, genetic and psychological concerns.
