A native of Memphis, TN, Sherry received her diploma in nursing from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Memphis, TN, and Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Memphis, Memphis, TN and her Master of Science degree in Nursing with a concentrated area of study in Nursing Administration from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She obtained a DNSc with a concentrated study in nursing administration at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in December 2006.
Sherry has been a nurse for 44 years and has experience in acute care and home health with extensive practice in management and education. She has been a nursing educator for twenty years, serving on the faculty at Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, TN, University of Memphis College of Nursing, Memphis, TN, and Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Memphis, TN. Sherry was awarded the 2014-2015 UT College of Nursing Alumni Outstanding Teacher Award and the 2012-2013 Student Government Executive Council Excellence in Teaching Award.
Sherry Webb joined the UTHSC College of Nursing in December 2005. She is the program coordinator for the Dedicated Education Units (DEUs) and the option coordinator for the CNL program. She teaches leadership and complex healthcare systems in the graduate program. Her scholarship is in the areas of quality, safety, and teaching-learning models.
