Kathy Gaffney, MSN, APN, PMHCNS, CPNP, PMHS joined the UTHSC Faculty in 2007 and is a part-time distance program instructor in the DNP Psychiatric Program. Her teaching responsibilities include lecturing, online seminars, and preparation and evaluation of content in areas of pediatric and adolescent psychiatry in both the DNP psychiatric and primary care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner programs. In addition to her faculty appointment at UTHSC, Ms. Gaffney practices at Oaks Integrated Care, a Community Mental Health Center in an underserved area of Trenton, New Jersey, specializing in the area of child and adolescent mental and behavioral health.
She is also a consultant to the Family Guidance Corporation for their Children’s’ Day Treatment School and after school programs. Ms. Gaffney is a member of APNA, APNA Child and Adolescent Steering Committee and Council, APNA Violence Prevention Task Force, NAPNAP, NAPNAP Mental Health SIG, NAPNAP Southern NJ chapter, NJSNA and Sigma Theta Tau.
