Community Grants

The Center has expanded efforts to include grant funding for clinical and community nurses within Memphis and the Mid-South area who want to improve patient care and clinical outcomes in their area of practice. NEW: The grant cycle for the community grants is reopening in April, 2022. This is a unique opportunity for nurses without prior research or grant experience to receive funding and academic support to change nursing practice. Proposals must be received by midnight   (CST) on April 8, 2022. Funds will be distributed directly by UTHSC College of Nursing. The application can be found at this link.

In May, 2019, four grants were awarded:

  • Implementation and Evaluation of Evidence-Based Alarm Management Strategies, Alexandra Lacy, BSN, RN, CCRN, PCCN, RT, Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital
  • Promote and Strengthen Competencies of Clinical Nurses: Implementation of Clinical Advancement Program Plus, Katie Crook, BSN, RN, Faculty Sponsor: Belinda Mandrell, PhD, RN, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
  • Development, Implementation and Evaluation of an Education Program for the Clinical Management of Acute Chest Syndrome in a Teaching Hospital, Olubumni Osinloye, BSN, RN, Faculty Sponsor: Artangela Henry, DNP, AGACNP-BC, FNP-C, Methodist Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center
  • Evaluation the Physiological and Psychological Impact of Music Selection and Therapy for Patients Undergoing Angiography Procedures, Jill Klobe, BSN, RN, Meagan Jones, MSN, RN, Methodist Le Bonheur North Hospital
