Chandra Alston, CAP, MBA
Chandra Alston is the Assistant Dean for Administration in the College of Allied Health Sciences at the UT Health Science Center (UTHSC). She has a B.S. in Marketing from UT Martin and an M.B.A. in Management from Union University. Employed with the University for fourteen years, Chandra has worked in other departments including the Office of Information Technology as a technical trainer and the Office of Equity and Diversity as the training administrator and in Human Resources as the interim assistant director. She earned the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) designation in 2004 and 2010. A passion for education, she is in the last year of studies at the University of Memphis earning her doctoral degree in higher education administration.
Training and development has always been a passion for Chandra, she has taught dozens of workshops on topics including Myers Briggs, LIFO, team building, improving communication skills, Are you in or out with your supervisor?, and CPS/CAP preparation courses just to name a few.
Chandra is involved in the community with Youth Villages as a volunteer, President-elect of the UT National Alumni Association (Memphis Region UT Alumni Network), serving as former Chair of the Development Council at UT Martin and participating as an advocate for adoptive and foster families in her church and community.
Chandra has been married to Dr. Michael Alston (Director, OED, UTHSC) for nineteen years and they have three children Tasha (23), Marisa (19) and Delicia (18). She enjoys spending time with her family, roller skating, watching movies and reading.
