Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing (CON) invites inquiries, nominations of, or applications from candidates for the position of Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor.

FUNCTION:
The Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs is responsible for promoting excellence across all academic programs in the College of Nursing. Provides day-to-day oversight of the effective operation of established academic programs and development of new academic programs in the College. Works collaboratively with Assistant Dean of Quality and Strategic Affairs. Ensures all academic programs operate according to set standards and that the College recruits high quality applicants to all programs who matriculate and graduate. Advises the Dean on matters related to program curricula, admission standards, and proposals for new academic programs. Recommends allocation of College resources as related to academic affairs. Coordinates activities of academic programs with campus/university academic support systems to ensure a well-integrated plan of operation consistent with the College mission and vision. Represents the College on matters related to academic affairs including evaluation and institutional effectiveness within the university and to the external communities. Reports directly to the Dean.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution and educational/administrative experience in a nationally accredited university with graduate programs is required. The candidate must qualify for rank of Associate Professor or Professor; be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Tennessee; and undergo background checks required by the State of Tennessee.
