The College of Medicine (COM) at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) seeks an outstanding and dynamic medical educator for the position of Associate Dean for Medical Education and Chair of the Department of Medical Education.

Leadership of medical student education enterprise resides with the positions of Associate Dean for Medical Education and Chair of the Department of Medical Education. Under the Associate Dean & Chair?s leadership, UTHSC is poised to bolster its curriculum integration and active learning while emphasizing more of its service learning activities, longitudinal required research, and capstone initiatives. The successful candidate for this position will:
~ Recruit faculty into the Department of Medical Education, provide guidance, and promote faculty development in teaching.
~ Oversee the offices of the assistant deans for clinical and basic science curriculum, technology integration, and program assurance.
~ Lead the process of curriculum reform and implementation of a system of integrated teaching, learning, and assessment.
~ Assist in creating a plan for the continued delivery of innovative undergraduate medical school education.
~ Assist in ensuring Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) compliance activities by following-up from and planning for site visits and reports.

REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must have an MD, DO, PhD or EdD, and experience in undergraduate medical education leadership. Further, they should have:
~ Strong organizational and managerial skills.
~ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with faculty of UT COM.
~ Strong commitment to teamwork.
