Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy in Memphis, TN, invites internal faculty applications from the College of Pharmacy for the position of Assistant Dean for Scholarly Integration and Collaboration. For those candidates with greater administrative experience, appointment as Associate Dean may be considered. The Assistant Dean/Associate Dean also works with the appropriate UTHSC offices to help assure the College's missions and goals are being met. This position reports to the Dean. This is an internal hire.

Specific responsibilities include:
1. Working closely with the Dean to increase thematic success of the College.
2. Creating and supporting "theme teams" around College interests that are not already established in the College.
3. Helping to make faculty successful in scholarship and research.
4. Collaborating with the Dean and Executive Committee to implement and evaluate various projects.
5. Developing faculty within theme teams to produce focused research.
7. Communicating and providing reports including:
- Success (e.g. publications, grant funding, and presentations in theme area) of theme teams as well as success of individual team members
- Research/scholarly development and productivity of faculty who are theme team members
8. Supporting daily operations of the College of Pharmacy, representing the Dean and/or Associate Deans in their absence (when requested).
9. Serving on College and campus committees as assigned by Dean.

Minimum qualifications:
1. PhD required
2. At least 10 years of academic faculty experience
3. At least 5 years of working closely with faculty in various disciplines and contributing to their success
4. Ability to work independently as well as demonstrated ability to integrate the College's two departments to work in a team environment
5. Demonstrated ability to mentor faculty
6. Demonstrated ability to manage a budget and be fiscally responsible and a good steward
