The Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education (GME) is a key member of the COM education leadership team, reporting to the Sr. Associate Dean for Education. In this role, the Associate Dean for GME is responsible for overseeing the office and programs of GME within the COM, and serving as the Designated Institution Official (DIO) for GME and fulfill all roles as DIO as defined by ACGME. It is anticipated this position will have a 50% effort in GME as the Associate Dean for GME, and 50% effort in clinical care and teaching.

General expectations:
*Establish and maintain a well-organized, responsive GME operation for the College.
* Ensure quality of all programs. In the first 12 months oversee a review of all GME programs and, depending on the results of that review, define priorities and establish a plan to improve where needed.
* Ensure continued accreditation of current programs and support accreditation efforts for new programs.
* Address concerns related to specific resident and/or GME faculty. Provide mentorship, support and appropriate remediation for residency and fellowship programs, their leadership and trainees.
* Maintain budgetary oversight of GME operations. Significant changes in finances will be done in consultation with you, the Associate Dean of Finance, and the Sr Associate Dean of Education.
*Advocate for residency and clinical fellowship programs within and outside the institution.

Requirement:
Must have an MD or MD/PhD and experience in GME leadership, strong organizational and managerial skills. Must meet the criteria of an Associate or Full Professor.
