The University of Tennessee, Graduate School of Medicine based in Knoxville, Tennessee seeks a dynamic clinician and educator to join the faculty in the Department of Medicine Division of Hematology Oncology as a Fellowship Director to lead our new Medical Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program. The Division of Hematology Oncology is composed of faculty members dedicated to the tripartite mission of clinical care, research and education. The selected candidate will have experience overseeing and coordinating all aspects of a Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program; demonstrated experience initiating a successful program is also desired. This clinician-educator must possess strong leadership and organizational skills and experience in training fellows and in curriculum development. A track record of substantive research and scholarly activity is highly preferred. Candidates must have a commitment to diversity and equal opportunity. This position is a non-tenure track, academic appointment.

Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with applicant?s experience and qualifications. The candidate must be board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology and Hematology. Qualifications include eligibility to obtain a license to practice medicine in Tennessee. The Internal Medicine Residency Program is a thriving program with established fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine. The Cancer Institute has registered over 70,000 patient visits with over 3,000 new patients with cancer diagnosed annually. In-hospital consultations are provided at UT Medical Center, a leading regional academic medical center. UTMC is ideally located in beautiful East Tennessee in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, affording metropolitan conveniences coupled with rural charm. Knoxville is a rapidly-growing Southeastern metropolitan city, has an affordable cost of living, a temperate climate and is home to the University of Tennessee which is known for its quality education.
