Description: NOT AVAILABLECollege of Dentistry, University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) invites applications for a newly created, 12-month, tenure-eligible, faculty position, rank to be determined by qualifications of applicant. As part of UTHSC?s cross-college expansion in the area of precision medicine, The Department of Bioscience Research (Please visit www.uthsc.edu/dentistry/research) is building a program in Salivary Diagnostics.

The ideal candidate for the position will be an investigator with an innovative and actively funded research program that is related to omics research (e.g., proteomics, metabolomics, genomics, transcriptomics, etc). As a faculty member, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and/or maintain his/her own extramurally funded research. Department faculty are also expected to contribute to the educational programs of the Department. The Department offers outstanding laboratories and shared research facilities as well as a commitment to develop and enhance faculty member?s full potential as researchers, educators and scholars. The UTHSC, located in Memphis, TN, has state-of-the-art core facilities and many other research related resources within a vibrant and highly interactive institution.

Minimum Qualifications: Successful candidates are expected to be terminally credentialed (i.e., PhD, MD, DMD, DDS or equivalent) from an accredited institution of higher education. Key qualifications include: at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience, a strong publication record, and show strong potential for obtaining external funding. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a vigorous, independent research program and to participate in the educational mission of the College of Dentistry.

Preferred Qualifications: An exemplary candidate will possess a strong record of research, teaching and scholarship that warrants consideration for faculty status at the rank of Associate/Full Professor. To be considered at these senior levels a candidate must have an actively funded research program in their area of expertise, a strong record of interdisciplinary collaborative research and a demonstrated ability to contribute to and lead team science efforts.
