Description: The UT HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER (UTHSC) College of Nursing invites applications for the full time position of Pediatric Neurology Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Health Promotion & Disease Prevention.

UTHSC embraces four missions: education, research, clinical care and institutional service. This role is comprised of 95% clinical practice assignment, which includes: functions as an Advanced Practice Nurse collaboratively with physician leadership of the Pediatric Neurology program; acts as a change agent for patients with neurologic problems, incorporating the role of clinical expert, role model, consultant, educator, practitioner, researcher, and nurse leader; provides clinical expertise to patients and families through direct and indirect patient care; collaborates with the neurology team in assessing, designing, implementing, and evaluating population-based programs of patient care to enhance high quality and cost effective patient outcomes. 5% educational responsibilities in the College of Nursing will be determined in collaboration with Department Chair.

Minimal requirements: current RN and a Master?s degree or higher in a pediatric nursing specialty demonstrated through national specialty certification as a nurse practitioner. All degrees must be from an accredited program. Three (3) years of clinical practice experience at the RN level. Experience as a nurse with pediatric neurology experience preferred but not required. Academic rank is based upon academic credentials.
