Description: The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Drug Discovery Center, College of Pharmacy, University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) invite applications for a tenure track position at the Associate or Full Professor level. The research of this senior faculty should focus on medicinal chemistry and drug discovery, with an outstanding established and ongoing research program, which includes a track record of sustained extramural funding. The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

Our College of Pharmacy is ranked among the top 20 colleges of pharmacy in the country by US News and World Report. It is also ranked among the top 25 pharmacy programs in total NIH funding. Dedicated laboratory space optimized for medicinal chemistry research in the new 187,000 square-foot College of Pharmacy building will be provided. The college has advanced analytical equipment for drug discovery including multiple NMR and high resolution LC/MS instruments. Further resources are available through multiple Campus core facilities. The UTHSC campus provides excellent opportunities to collaborate with faculty in the College of Medicine and other biomedical-research related disciplines.

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is located in Memphis, TN, an economically vibrant center, with a metropolitan population of more than 1.3 million, reflecting the richness along the bluffs of the mighty Mississippi River.
