GME Research Division is planning to start a year-long research certification course in January 2020. The course will primarily focus on educating and informing trainees (residents and fellows) about various aspects of research.

There will be 12 sessions (with two lectures per session/month) and few practical workshops.  All sessions will focus on different aspects of research including types, IRB process, grant opportunities, biostatistics etc. At the end of the course, participants will be awarded with certificate of completion.

Sessions will be held on the second Monday of every month from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Any residents and fellows enrolled in a UTHSC GME program can participate.

To receive certificate of completion, trainees must fulfill following criteria:

  1. Attend 10/12 sessions over 2 years
  2. Present a poster in a regional, national or international meeting
  3. Publish or submit a peer review publication (case report, review article, original research etc)

The Office of GME Research will help trainees with above goals at every step. Please contact the GME research office for any questions.
