Job description:Student Assistant needed to work on the weekends between the hours of 8am - 5pm. This position is responsible for the daily operations of SASS on the weekends, including but not limited to managing the front desk, answering telephones at the front desk, providing excellent customer service to all those coming into SASS, organizing and maintaining the SASS library, operating the library computer system, assisting students using SASS computers and computer programs, and helping SASS Staff with copying, special projects, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Job description: The CANDLE Study (Conditions Affecting Neurocognitive Development and Learning in Early Childhood) is a longitudinal birth cohort study that studies what factors impact cognitive development in babies 0-3 (see www.candlestudy.org).
The Work Study Research Student for CANDLE will perform the following duties:

  • Conduct data collection phone calls to mothers enrolled in the CANDLE Study.
    • Conduct phone interviews to collect study data; enter data collected into database used in study.
    • Collect nutrition data over the phone on child (what the child eats in a 24 hour period); enter into nutrition database. (will receive specific training for nutrition data collection)
    • Update contact information.
  • Schedule study appointments and perform appointment reminder calls and/or text messages; will use electronic database searches to locate lost participants.
