The International College of Dentists presented Dr. H. Clifton Simmons, Editor of the Journal of the Tennessee Dental Association, with The Golden Pen Award, Division 2 for Outstanding Article, which is an award presented to the editor of a publication that contains an article or series of articles that is of current importance to the dental profession. The award was given to Dr. Simmons for the article titled, “Regenerative Dentistry: Translating Advancements in Basic Science Research to the Dental Practice,” which was submitted by Dr. Franklin Garcia-Godoy, D.D.S., M.S., Ph.D. and his collaborator, Dr. Peter Murray, Ph.D., who is a professor at Nova Southeastern University. The article was featured in the Fall 2010 issue of the Journal of the Tennessee Dental Association.
