Dean's Lot (N Lot) located behind Dunn Dental Bldg. and the Dental Patient Lot (O Lot) located southwest of building are free on weekends. Metered parking is available for a cost along S. Dunlap, East, & Beale Streets. Madison Plaza Garage (H Lot) located at 940 Madison Ave. - $5/day.

About the Presenter

Dr. Dan Tylka graduated from dental school Southern Illinois University - School of Dental Medicine in 1983. Following this he completed a residency in Fixed Prosthodontics from the University of Iowa in 1985, as well as a fellowship in Temporomandiblar Disorders from the same institution in 1986. In pursuit of additional knowledge Dr. Tylka went on to completed residencies in Orofacial Pain at the University of Minnesota in 1988 and more recently in Sleep Medicine at the University of California - Los Angeles in 2009. While at the University of Minnesota he also earned a Master's Degree in Biostatistics & Neuroanatomy.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain, where he has held a position as a board examiner for over a decade. During his career Dr. Tylka has taught at dental schools in Illinois, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. Dr. Tylka hold numerous memberships, including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Dental Sleep medicine, the Southern Sleep Society, the Tennessee Sleep Society, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association, Tennessee CRANIO, the Tennessee Dental Association, the Memphis Dental Society, as well as many other organizations including past memberships in other state and local dental organization.

Currently, Dr. Tylka serves as Director of TMD/Sleep Medicine in the UTHSC College of Dentistry - the very first position of its kind in the country. This position was brainchild of Dean Timothy L. Hottel, understanding the developments in the world of Sleep Medicine and dentistry's responsibility to assist our medical colleagues in identifying and assisting in the management of patients diagnosed with sleep apnea.
