Our Cardiovascular Diseases Division is committed to outstanding education and training, innovations in research and therapeutics, as well excellence in clinical care. We seek to provide exceptional training in patient-centered care that is supported by a comprehensive understanding of pathophysiology and the best available science. Our basic, translational and clinical researchers aim to discover and implement new approaches for treating and preventing disease. Our cardiologists provide superb, advanced clinical care to patients with the full spectrum of cardiovascular diseases, in a variety of emergent and out-patient venues.

John L. Jefferies, MD, To Lead UTHSC Cardiology

Cardiology chairJohn L. Jefferies, MD, MPH, has been appointed the Jay M. Sullivan Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine and Chief of Cardiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC).
