2018 Volunteer Your Voice Summer Camp

June 4-8, 2018

Contact Tricia Hedinger for more information or visit the

Volunteer Your Voice Summer Camp website.

Each June, ASP hosts the Volunteer Your Voice Summer Camp.  The camp is designed specifically for children, ages 8 – 15, who have speech, language, and/or hearing disorders – children who often miss summer camp experiences due to their communication challenges.  Directors Tricia Hedinger and Tim Saltuklaroglu partner with other faculty members and graduate students to create an experience filled with two days of on-campus fun and three days of camping at the Great Smoky Mountain Institute at Tremont.  Children who attend are unsuspecting of the communication goals, written by graduate student volunteers, that are embedded into the week’s’ activities.  All the kids know is that they are having a blast!

In past years, some camper fees have been waived entirely or partially thanks to the generosity of donors and partner agencies.  The camp directors continue to seek additional funding for this unique experience so that additional children and graduate students may attend at a reduced or no cost.  Please contact UT Foundation for more information about donating to this exceptional experience.
