PROGRAM IN MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY
Faculty Position
The Medical Technology Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center invites applications for a 12 month, tenure track position now available. Major teaching responsibilities include teaching preclinical immunohematology to medical technology/clinical laboratory science students with additional teaching assignments in other content areas appropriate to individual expertise. Duties also include participation in scholarly activities/research, some administrative duties and participation in professional and other service activities. Applicants must hold national generalist certification as MLS/MT(ASCP) or CLS(NCA) and be eligible for Tennessee licensure as a medical laboratory technologist. Additional minimum qualifications include an earned master's degree and three years of teaching experience, preferably in a university based medical technology program. Experience in online teaching is highly desirable. Candidates with substantive progress towards a master's degree will be considered. Applicants must also have recent, extensive professional experience in blood banking and have an interest in pursuing doctoral education. Salary and rank will be commensurate with education and experience.
